third person cover system..........WTF!
please tell me that was just some fancy video editing and that they didnt actually put third person cover system in a first person multiplayer shooter. if they did........WOW. developers stupidity never ceases to amaze me. if it is just part of that anti-camper utility then fine but only that and i hope you only get to use it once every few minutes and not just spam it.
think about it for a second. someone who picks a nice spot on top of a bridge or something can now be seen by someone else who just came around the corner and took cover behind a dumpster.....gee that doesnt sound stupid. what happened to you and your pals (if your playing team) using your freaking brain and figuring out where the sniper is shooting from. you shouldnt be penalized for finding a good hiding spot and i say this as someone who played the run n gun type and was shot by plenty a sniper........as much as a tactical advantage it might be i just get bored sitting there waiting for someone to pop into view. what happened to actually being difficult, you know, way back in the old days of gaming before all the "kneel to restore health" crap and the quest arrows that pointed you to the exact location of your goal and the massive aim assist that allows a legally blind hook handed pirate with cerebral palsy to hit anything as long as he is basically facing the same direction as something else. *cough* CoD *cough* |

Are you special?
Please go play the game before complaining about features. It is very useful and fun ingame, sucks to want every shooter to just be CoD. No matter what you stated about CoD above that is what you want this to be, how dare they change the "norm" on you?!!?!? |

I agree Nathan, I dislike the third person cover system. I'd much prefer it kept the perspective in first person so as to avoid people cross-camping one another all the while seeing what is impossible for them to be seeing.

this system is a unrealistic and im not just talking about video games vs real life.....im talking stupidly asinine on its very face. im sure people that suck at video games like this crap cause it lets them see stuff they normally wouldnt see unless they were using a wall hack but some of us dont want to have omniscience on the battlefield. this punishes someone who has found a nice perch that is quiet and not moving in favor of someone who just came running around the corner and hides behind something. the first guy cant see you but the second can? how is that not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. |

It's simply preference. Rainbow Six Vegas uses a third person cover system and that's a hugely successful franchise.

It's not out yet, still in development. But the system is demonstrated here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkk3SiywLHI#t=3m14s |

I think the active cover system is unique and useful.
Plus the maps are like a big circle. If you camp a corner someone is just going to come around the map and knife you. Give the game a try before judging it so harshly and criticizing the developers. |

Can you imagine what Rainbow Six would be like if you could just lean and prone instead of the cover system? What next? A tactical planning phase before a mission starts? Multiple squads and entry points? Who'd play a game like that? I miss pre lockdown Rainbow Six so much

If companies don't try new ideas then our only choices for shooters will be CoD over and over and that game is no longer enjoyable for the majority of people who used to like CoD.

Actually, I think the third person cover system is a nice touch. Its probably the only good element from the game.

I agree completely. I hate the 3rd person view, it just encourages more camping.
