Few Questions
-I did some searching on google but couldn't really find exactly what I was looking for.
-I just have a few thoughts on my mind.. Some background information is that I am currently in an AI class and video game design class and I'm doing a project combining both. I probably am going to recreate my university in l4d being a two or three level campaign. However, I need to incorporate some sort of AI in the game, so that brings me to my first question: -Is it possible to edit the SI behavior? Something like how in l4d2 has custom mutations. I've been brainstorming a bit and editing the SI to custom behaviors would fulfil the requisites of the class. -Also, I'm pretty sure I can reskin the players (zoey/francis/bill/louis) right? So would I be able to change the Francis skin to model it off myself? -Sorry if these are basic questions. That's it for now. |

I don't know about SI behaviour but you should be able to reskin Francis to look like you.
Depending where you live modeling the map off your University can be a really bad idea... if it's found and traced to you then some places will think you are planning to shoot up your school and get the police involved. |

-I already have permission. Plus I can just label it a made up name and then it won't matter. Thanks for the concern though.
-Anyone have any open ended comments they want to bring to this? |

You can change all sorts of things with the SI, their speed, ability duration, ability interval, and a bunch of other stuff, you cant change how they act around survivors though...meaning you cant make an SI walk up to you without attacking.
![]() It is completely possible to create mutations in L4D1, Ive made a few mutations modeled exactly off of mutations in L4D2 thats worked flawlessly, in addition, with a little bit of coding, Ive been able to implement a "Mutation" option in the main menu, Im working on now how to make it behave as its own separate gamemode. If youd like the commands and what they do, let me know and Ill make a list of them for you. Last edited by Jeff S.: 03-17-2011 at 06:22 PM. |

-Hey thanks for the reply Jeff but I've moved on to the l4d2 subsection.
