So I had this extremely vivid nightmare.....

Normally, I'm the type to shrug off dreams when I sleep. Hell I even realize sometimes I'm dreaming during one. But last night, I had one which was particularly realistic and somewhat horrifying. It was 'War of the Worlds' but it took place in my own hometown.

------------------------------------------
LONG POST INCOMING:

As much as I can remember at this point, I was a policeman in the middle of an open field with a whole bunch of other people, including news reporters and civilians. Suddenly the sky went dark and people started screaming pointing at the sky. I looked up and spotted a cylindrical spaceship of titanic proportions within the dark clouds forming. Everyone started to flee in all directions and I hopped into a nearby police car with another cop and started to floor it.

But we only managed to go about 10 meters before our car, and every other vehicle in the vicinity stalled. While the guy was panicking and trying to restart its engine, I quickly realized it was an EMP attack, and alerted everyone else as I bolted out of the car.

As I ran out on the open field, I could see hundreds of panicking civilians heading towards the nearby MRT stations (train station network in Singapore)

Knowing there is a bomb shelter in there somewhere, I followed the masses. I could hear the screams and cries of everyone next to me along the lines of "WE ARE ALL GONNA DIE" and all that. My head spun around to the sound of groaning metal, and I saw one of the tripods from the War of the Worlds approaching from the north.

I finally reached the station, and everyone was either heading inside, or were making a beeline to the nearby mall. I knew what was coming next, but nobody listened to me as I urged them to get in the MRT's bomb shelter immediately. I heard a loud, deafening hissing sound and a thin cloud of dusty, black smoke descending slowly on the station.

I coved my mouth and nose and ran as fast as my legs could carry me to the sub basement, where I finally saw the shelter.

The door was closing fast and everyone was sprinting to be the last ones in. I jumped like I never did before and passed through, as the door finally slammed shut, leaving the dozens who were too slow, outside.

As I caught my breath, I observed the room. It was a long hallway and I estimated more than 150 people in it. There were ventilation shafts, but it was independent of the outside air so the alien bio-attack was not a concern for now. There were some windows (glass windows in a bomb shelter?!?!?)and someone was peering out with a horrified look in his face. Some others were crying and some were screaming hysterically. I took charge and asked everyone to get down and keep quiet.

It felt like hours as I pressed my ear to the concrete wall, listening to the sounds of groaning metal, the fading cries of people dying of the toxic Black Smoke.

My body felt tense as I anticipated the inevitable.

Suddenly, the windows broke, and rain water, as well as the Black Smoke poured in. All hell broke loose, as everyone started shouting, screaming and choking. I started to run with my arms over my mouth, but I was knocked onto the floor by some running guy.

I was submerged in rainwater, as it flooded the room. I knew I was screwed: if I tried to stand up I'd die by poison gas, if I stayed I would drown.

(here's the part which if I wrote in 'O' levels, they would fail my a$$)
While I felt my life fading, I woke up, with my hands clutching my own neck.

TL;DR: Aliens came, I died, it felt real.
------------------------------------------

I just felt like I need to type all this out. Feel free to write any similar experiences or troll about 2012.

I had a dream that I snuck into an xgf's and shot her with a tranquilizing dart, just for the lolz. I decided to leg it,went down a pathway and I ran into all the scottish characters from trainspotting and then somehow ended up in a forest. I realised I had people coming over, went back to the apartment and had to move the body before they entered each room. Ended up driving around and chucking her on the sidewalk.

(no psycho) It was scary as though I 100% believed it was real, the expressions on peoples faces were so detailed.

Also I had another i was a fish-"human" swimming around in a huge tank in a Japanese fish farm. Jumped out of the tank through the roof and got chased around in the ducts. Got out and suddenly I had turned into one of those bats that can glide... good fun

Once upon a time, I had a magical dream about the undersea fantasies. On a boat that was sinking, I eventually ran out of hope. When I landed into the water, I was able to breath and saw every single sea creature I've seen.

From Minecraft Squids to fossilized mermaids and to giant prehistoric sea monsters to undersea worms, I've seen both real and fake creatures. It was an amazing, intense feeling.

Sometimes you can feel the presence of unexisting...intense.

You want freaky, ultra-realistic dreams every night? Put on a nicotine patch. I'm considering starting a dream journal now just to record the total minds my brain comes up with while it's on the patch.

I've heard that - but apparently they're mostly bad dreams?

I haven't had a nightmare in a long time, but the other night I had a dream where people were dying in ridiculous ways. My friend and I were in my house, and he told me that we could survive if we just stayed inside. As he was saying this, a car crashed into the wall he was standing next to and he exploded into a cloud of red mist. I panicked for a minute, then decided that I just had to reload an old save and prevent it from happening. While the "old save" was loading, I realized that it was completely impossible and woke up.

I can imagine. Drugs that mess with your mind combined with letting your mind freely wander has to produce some serious .

If the characters from Trainspotting were in your dream, then that probably wasn't a tranquilizing dart you shot her with...

Good luck with that.

Nope.
I have never watched any of the movies in my entire life actually. And the last time I read the book was over a year ago. Weird how the mind can conjure up details that you have never seen before right?

They're more intense than anything else, so I suppose certain people would be bothered by them. I like them. They show me a side of my psyche that usually isn't visible in my normal dream cycles. It's the only entertainment I get out of quitting cigarettes.

Some of my worst nightmares was when I was younger. I often dreamt like in 4D or something, with an intense nauseating feeling present at all times, with almost everything being abstract and the things being concrete having huge abnormal differences in scale. ed up dreams, to say the least.

Today I can mostly control my dreams and thanks to my vivid imagination my dreams usually consists of elements I fantasize about when I go to bed.

I can often notice if I have a nightmare because if so I usually dream of real life situations and developments... :/
