High disk write usage by steam when idle.

Has anyone else experienced this before? I ask because I got a performance alert while I was idle, regarding high disk write usage by steam. Thinking back, I know this isn't the first time I've gotten these, and I'm just wondering if anything could provide any insight into what could be causing this high disc write usage.

Steam CONSTANTLY writing something to disk

Have a peek through that thread. jmccaskey from Valve took a look into this and ruled out any issues.

From Norton Internet Security. It detected high disk usage (over 5,000 MB) by steam, while I was idle.

Interesting find. Glad to know I'm not alone on this.

Nothing to be concered about, with the possible exception of running Norton on your computer.

Roger Norton was a genius. Symantec has been riding that rep for years and years.
