Activision to Acquire Take Two (Rumor)

On one hand I'd laugh my butt off if they acquire Take Two, because they will milk GTA and drive it into the ground. /smirks On the other hand.. Take Two does publish other good games. So it's kind of sad for the other games, we know how Activision treats its "lesser" games.

Who knows, maybe Activision could re-invent their Interstate series (which I loved, best in-game music EVAR) by using the GTA engine.

Ouch, just looked through Take-Two's catalog... Activision is going to have a lot of IP's to ♥♥♥♥ up.

Won't they have to go through Rockstar?
As it's Rockstar game not take two they was just Rockstar publisher.

So i cannot see them milking gta unless Rockstar let's them do it.

Take Two owns Rockstar. :_) You purchase Take Two, you purchase Rockstar. :P Which also own 2K.. meaning Bioshock would be owned by Activision to.

I think Rockstar's parent company is Take-Two.

edit: Beat to the punch, but yeah. This would surely end bad if it is true.

Take a look at the subsidiaries on the Wikipedia article. A lot of great games are going to get swallowed by the beast.

Hopefully he sales off the developers, then they can get picked up by EA or someone worthy of their talent. He can swallow up GTA and destroy it for all I care.

I think Bethesda and Take-Two had co-publishing rights to some of their games. Bethesda is still owned by Zenimax, though.

Dunno, it was on Take-Two's page, so I figured it had something to do with Take-Two.

pff.. EA tried to buy them out for $2billion back in '08, and take-two refused the offer. Seeing as take-two is doing fine on their own, I say nothing will come of this.
