Angry crysis wont start

I just downloaded Crysis and launched it for the 1st time. After trying to launch the game, Steam started downloading and installing GameSpy Comrade. Ok, I launched it and it asked for an update. I clicked "ok, go on and update it". But after the update it won't start anymore, it just crashes.
Is this GameSpy Comrade necessary for for Crysis single player?

Ok. I tried running the game normally without any comrades. But it didn't work, too. The screen goes black like it's gonna launch, but after a few secs it drops to the desktop again.
I have no idea how to solve this. It's to complicated for me. Please, help.

I tried contacting steam support. They said to manually install all of this awesome software:
...\steamapps\common\crysis\Directx9c\DXSETUP.exe
...\steamapps\common\crysis\VCRedist\vcredist_x86. exe
...\steamapps\common\crysis\PB\pbsvc.exe
...\steamapps\common\crysis\GameSpyComrade\Comrade Setup.exe

But nothing changed, the game still doesn't want to start.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for all of your questions, but I do know that I was able to play Crysis without having to install the Gamespy software, since I didn't really play multiplayer.
Best of luck on trying to get it to work though.
