OMO/OSW Updates and 50% sale NEWS

Hey gang,
Sorry I've not been around much over the past 2 weeks, but there's been a hell of a lot going on.

1. We're moving offices.
2. We've been planning updated releases.
3. Planning NEW projects.
4. Planning the 50% sale.

Over the next couple of weeks we will be releasing updates for Munch and Stranger.

Munch get's a whole raft of updates ...
  1. Remaining achievements: A bittersweet reunion, not mine, archers at dawn, a peaceful death, riding high, zen, wheelie selfish, we’re freeeee, demonic
  2. Changed PC default controls to WASD
  3. Fixed superfast tick problem
  4. Fixed joypad controls
  5. Fixed usb sound device error
  6. Added launcher with multiple resolution and anti-aliasing support
  7. Fixed audio looping on cash sound issue

And Stranger is getting the following updates ...
  1. Audio Fix (6+ channel issue within Fmod, affects G35 headphones etc).
  2. Input Config (The Launcher now has a controls config page)
  3. Support for non-standard 360 compatible joypads
  4. OpenGL init code (Ensure screen res is x8 compatible).
  5. Broken Achievement
  6. Fixed missing misc audio cue's

On Monday the 14th of March, we are starting a week long 50% discount sale!

By the time the sale starts the 2 updates WILL be live, we're hoping to get the Munch one out around mid-week (this week), and the Stranger one next week.

We're STILL waiting for ATI to provide us with a fixed OpenGL driver to test with, something they apparently already tested internally and it works fine, but until I actually have it here and test it on my machine I don't believe it.

These updates will mark the last, until we release the localized versions, which we're hoping to do by the end of March, but due to other commitments may get delayed slightly.

Thanks for all the support (and abuse) over the past couple of months, some of which we did deserve, but as I hope most of you can tell from the amount of time I've spent here, and the amount of posts I've made that we feel VERY strongly about our userbase and will do what we can do help you guys out.

However there is a time when we need to move on to new projects and to get those up to speed.

Thanks for your support.

Stewart.

Thankyou for the update Stewart, i would first like to apologise for any grief i have given you over these games, they are brilliant works of art and JAW are to be commended for bringing them to the PC platform.

Secondly, i would like to thank you for all your continued support on the titles, they wouldn't be here if it were not for you.

Thirdly, as you are moving onto new projects, would it be too much to ask for a continued update on the SW HD update on these forums if and when you have news on it?

Finally i wish you all the best of luck on your new projects and i hope they go exceedingly well.

Any chance you could fix the loading screen lock up I have been getting since the last OMO patch. Its annoying because I could play fine up until that patch come out.

Ok, that's all very cool (I can finally get SW at that 50% off price ) but could you tell me what about missing shadows in Munch? You said your team was working on it... and bugged Recycle Saw?... and less pretty water? (No bumpmaps)... and no "Invisible" effect on some levels?... not mentioning the bunch of less important stuff... Does "These updates will mark the last" mean we will NEVER have them fixed? That's kinda sad...

Still, I understand it wasn't YOUR port and I'd like to thank you for all good things you've brought here

EDIT: Oh, on oddworld.com is mentioned that the shadows are fixed Yay

This may have been fixed with some other fixes, let us know as soon as the patch is out, and if not we will look into it.

Are the grey/blue lines in strangers wrath something people have been complaining about or just me? Will the frame rate be sorted out also? Once again thanks for all the help.

Also having the same munch load up problem.

I have a great Idea!!! Instead of giving new customers a 50% off sale; how about giving me 50% back or 50% off of a game of my choice. After all, I paid for four games back in December, and still cant play two of them. Sounds like a reasonable compromise.

Although you made the point like a bit of a (....) it is kinda fair, I did pay for four games and the two most expensive ones are totally unplayable (not as in the graphics are bad etc. I can’t actually play them). You admittedly have been very kind and apologetic but I can't actually play the games still... It's like eating out at a restaurant and you order a lovely meal. The food comes out and it’s uncooked. You complain and the head chef comes out and apologies really sincerely and you think “Hey what a lovely man, he could have been rude and not make the effort but he came out and admitted he screwed up”. The food’s still un-cooked though! In any other business if you brought something and it didn’t work you’d get a new one or your money back. It’s not like they are minor problems, I’ve never actually seen the title screen of Munch! Again you are a very kind and considerate waiter but please cook my food.

Which 2 can't you play? we released a comprehensive Patch for Stranger just over a month ago now.

If you are still having issues with Stranger relating to graphics, and are an ATI owner, then the problems relating to the game sit squarely with ATI, NOT us.

As for Munch, that too had a comprehensive update 3 weeks or so ago.

Please let me know the issues you are having and I'll see what we can do.

Stranger won't get the AA update until the HD version later this year, but Munch has 2x and 4x in the new update.

Lines? Are you on an ATI board? if so, see the ATI thread please.

Munch Load up problem? slow loading or hanging?

The new munch update might fix this, but as it's something we've never encountered then it's not easy for us to say we've addressed it or not.
