Host multiplayer port forwarding
I dont think the host feature is working for me.
Ive created a new game though nobody joins even after 20 mins or so of waiting. After some googling ive seen that changing some port forwarding settings might be the answer. I'm not exactly sure what port forwarding actually is. I followed a guide online but i dont think anything i changed has worked... maybe im just changing the wrong stuff. when i join a multiplayer game it runs and connects fine, its just hosting that isnt working. Anyone else experienced a similar problem? - or - Has anyone enabled/changed port forwarding on windows 7, and can give me description of where to change the port values? //c4b |

You need to open the port on your router. Open your web browser and type one of the following numbers in the address bar: 192.168.0.1 ; 192.168.1.1 ; 192.168.2.1 ; one of those should get you into your router. From there, you need ot find out where your router's firewall settings are and enable Magicka's port and direct it to your computer's IP. To find out your IP click Start -> Run -> "cmd.exe" and type in "ipconfig". the 192.168 number shoudl be your address.

thanks for help Karai_17. I tried accessing my router though the browser as you mentioned, there is a user name and password lock on there which i can't get past.
I've tried the default admin/password logins but they're not working either. I've sent an e-mail to my ISP asking for further help. I'll post here if this solution works once I get into my router. |

forwarding port 7331 worked perfectly!
Now people join my hosted game within seconds of creating a game. For anyone else with the same issues, here is where I found more information on port forwarding with a netgear DG834 router. |
