How did we get to the point where people are trying to sell that for 80 dollars? I MEAN WHAT THE HELL.

80 dollars as in cheap or expensive. If you by 80 dollars mean cheap, then that is a good thing, means capitalism works.

It's either consumers want it and industry provides..

or industry just provides and consumers eat that up

Wait, is that just a ball that gives different coloured lights when you plug your ipod in it? Does it serve any other purpose?

The sad thing is that lots of people will buy it just because it's an iPhone accessory

You misunderstand. It's just a plastic ball you put your iPhone /iPod into to charge it. It doesn't have any actual lights in it. The iPhone / iPod is the one actually displaying those colours.. the colours just shine through the plastic....

Looks kind of cool, I'd buy one if the price was closer to $5.

Also: Consumers can't stop a company from overpricing something. They can only refuse to buy it.
