Chime will not start. (with error message)

Ive played Chime in the past, but now suddenly it wont start. I get this error message when I try to play. I even tried using the -novideo launch option but it doesnt help, I still get the same message.

That is strange; normally that particular bug is fixed by the -novideo option. The good news is we've included a debugger in the latest Steam update! To activate it;

1. Open your Steam games library and right click on Chime. Select Properties.

2. Under the "General" tab click on "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS".

3. In the text field that appears enter "-verbose" (without the "").

4. Attempt to launch Chime and afterwards navigate to

C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\Chime

and you'll find a file called "verbose.log" which will contain some information about your last session with Chime. Send that to customersupport@zoemode.com with a brief description of your problem and hopefully we'll have a fix for you soon!

It would appear that the program is calling for a file that does not exist. Although the file name changes from instance to instance, it is always looking for the file in the same temp folder:

Unable to generate a temporary class (result=1).
error CS1583: 'c:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\Temp\CSC7C3A.tmp' is not a valid Win32 resource file.

I guess I could write to your customer support, but you know, with all the folks experiencing problems, a patch might be more appropriate...

BTW, I have the same problem as the OP. The game DID work for me previously, now suddenly it crashes on launch.

edit: What changed? The -novideo option now fixed this problem for me, although it didn't back in April...
