Banned for inactivity ?
Greetings , so i decided to dig up MW2 after about half a year of inactivity , and when i try to play online the game crushes with iw4 message saying : cheat detected , as far as i know , no cheats have been used on my acc , could it be that i was banned or disabled for inactivitiy? And could my account be enabled again? Its really frustrating being accused for something faulty !

Well, that means VAC banned you from some games. VAC bans are permanent. It would easier to read the sticky posted above. It explains everything you need to know about VAC.

Has your account actually been VAC banned with respect to MW2 (I don't own the game so I don't know if the message you describe is truly representative of such a situation)
If so, there's little you can do, except perhaps offer your case to Steam Support. Perhaps someone else used cheats on your account, or you modified something somewhere. If so, then the best solutions are: 1) don't play MW2 (or play offline if there IS an offline mode?) or 2) create a new account and re-purchase the game for this account. Alternatively, If your account was disabled as opposed to a VAC ban, you wouldn't be able to log in to it at all, I'm sure, let alone attempt to run a game. ---------------- Reasons for bans are not disclosed, as you agreed when you signed up. Being responsible for your account logiacally implies you take care to know what occurs when it's used, especially in terms oif cheats / modifications. Therefore, there's no reason for anyone else to know or tell you. Last edited by _Budweiser_: 03-19-2011 at 08:29 AM. |

You could contact steam support to ask when the ban was applied but they wont disclose the reason why, only that it was for cheating.

well , as far as im concerned im not buying the same game again just so i can play the online part of it , having to level up alll the way up to prestige again , although this case seems a little fishy as to having been banned while being inactive , i could be wrong , i could be right , anyway , i dont think ill get the information i want from the support team as they would simply not give it the proppe attention ! |

I'm not sure exactly what it is you want, though. Pretty much all the information you should need is in the VAC information thread and Steam Subscriber Agreement. |

VAC is too strict in my honest opinion , not giving us the reason of baning yet not lifting the ban , that really isnt much of an argument to put up!

You also agreed that Valve would not disclose the reasons for a VAC ban. Why did you agree to such criteria only to complain later? |

For this you are right , i never read the license agreement to any game , knowing there wont be any exploit , this will be a lesson not to trust anything anymore @
