server timeout

I just bought Sacred 2 and everytime it gets to connecting to local server it always ends up saying timeout and exiting. And yes I have allowed it in my anti virus and tried starting it after disabling my firewall, but still no luck. Please help me!

I have found a solution for now, it involves me going into msconfig and disabling all services, except for Microsoft ones, and start ups. Now I just need to narrow it down to which one is making it not work. Any suggestions?

Heh, that was pretty nifty

I can only guess the best way to find out which one is the problem, is to switch them ON, one by one, and test if everything is working fine, other than that, I am totally clueless > . >

K, it was 2 Services in msconfig. WinSock Extension Manager, and WinSock Svchost Manager. I disable those, I can play the game, but cannot browse the web. At least it fixed the problem, not a bad game if I do say so. Very long and frustrating fix though. Hopefully this will help someone else so they do not have to waste as much time as I did.
