L4D 1 Laggier then L4D 2 ?

I've a question..

Last time when L4D2 was not released...I can host L4D 1 with 4 player with average of 100 ping....Then after a few months of L4D2 released, the ping went up to like 600.

However hosting L4D 2 games are not affected.

Is there any config I can use to reduce L4D 1 server lag ?

If you're a local server, it doesn't have anything to do with the release of L4D2.

Nope the lag depends on the servers and your connection.
