Anyone else having problems starting the game?

Every time i try to start darkspore it starts to load then errors out and closes, i dont even get to see any cinamatics or anything. tried running as admin, still no luck.

looking at the logs i see this

00a0af08 => DLL not found, no disassembly.

yet it doesnt seem to reference any actually DLL in the log that is causing the error, anyone know what it might be?

I have the same problem seems to be WindowsCodecs.dll

actually it seems almost every log has that same error in it from all the ones ive seen posted on the forums.

May have figured it out if you are using service pack 2 on xp it may not work. you need service pack 3.

nah full reinstall of windows fixed the problem for me... lol. running windows 7 64. Also if for any reason the download in steam stops early, you seem to get this error as well. So a reinstall might help.
