Red face reinstalling games on a separate hard drive?

Hello, I need to make space on my computer. It has about 30 gb left on its hard drive, and at this point, is acting slower than usual because of the small amount of memory.

The majority of the memory is taken up by steam games, and I was wondering if there was any way to remove them from my computer's hard drive, and reinstall the games on a separate hard drive.

I've already tried to install a game on a separate hard drive, but there doesn't seem to be an option to do so.

Can anybody help?

What OS are you using? If Vista or 7, this tool can move installed Steam games to another drive.

All you can do is move the entire install, with OSX no way to install on multiple hard-drives unless you install Vista or 7 in bootcamp.

Well if you had a stand alone HD you could copy your steamapps folder to that, uninstall Steam on the old drive and install a fresh copy on the new drive. The just paste the steamapps folder into the fresh Steam install.

He could lose some of the saves doing that, he might need to check if all saves are in the Steam Cloud or in the Steam folder first
