Player FOV

Please give an option to set the Player FOV higher. Having the gun take up most of my screen is really giving me a headache.

It seems it's around 50. Being able to set it a lot higher would be awesome. Thanks!

I agree with Nexy, the field of view is kind of claustrophobic - gives me a headache sometimes. Great game, nonetheless.

i don't see how the gun takes up that much space on anyones screen unless people are really exaggerating.

Yeah I really hope there will be a way to increase the FoV. It's just far too close for my liking. Everything just feels kinda cluttered to me.

Yep, I agree. A game like this should have a pretty high FoV so you can see what's going on around you.

I actually already asked them about this in the ideas thread.

What they said:
Quote:
FoV probably wont change due to some problems it will cause.
So yeah, doesn't look so good for us.

This is a deal breaker for me, I'm interested in the game and concept but get headaches from low FOVs
EDIT: This is a UE3 game, so there should surely be a way to force FOV like in borderlands or ut3?

Same here!

I end up not playing low FOV games because i get nausea with them.

Also note that each resolution has an ideal Vertical FOV (horizontal must be 90 in most cases), for a 1280x1024 res the V-FOV should be 78 degrees, for a 1024x768 it should be 74 etc etc

So making the game with a fixed FOV will not work well with all resolutions and screens. So, please, add an option to change it in the graphic settings or by editing a line in a .ini file

EDIT: You can use this calculator to get your vertical FOV

As there seems to be a big demand for changeable FoV it's something that we will need to investigate. I won't promise anything but we'll try to get it in!

While I appreciate being able to change the FOV, I never even notice that it's too small until someone says something. Are you guys just so used to massive FOVs that anything smaller drives you nuts or something?

No, it depends on what screen and/or resolution you play. I play with a 19' LCD at 1024x678 or 1280x104 and the gun looks so big with the default FOV. But the problem is not the size of the gun, is the FIeld of View itself that gets clutered and gives a very bad effect when you quickly turn your view, i get dizziness. The distance of your face to the screen it's a factor too.

That said, this game does not have the worst FOV possible, i played lots of games with smaller FOVs than this one, but i end up not playing them because of the dizziness. Every time i get to change the FOV in a game to the rdesired/required FOV for my resolution i fell like i get a new game.
