Music stops after restarting the stage

The music stops when I restart through ESC -> X -> Enter.

I only hear the sound effects for the shooting and when the enemies explode. The music starts again when I go to the menu, but stops as soon as I start playing.

This doesn't happen every time, it usually requires several restarts. The only way to get the music back is to restart the whole game.
