game crash :(

Hi there

yesterday i played evil genius and the game just crashed without any warning it just freeze for something like 3 sec (the sound freeze too)and then it crashed

i had before the same problem after the building progress of the hotel wing done
the game crashed to me in the same way...
but now i dont see anything new i did that should make the game crash,
i resume to the save file and there some agents who get traped in my fire trap (i forgot her name)
and then it crash!
it allways in the same time

(i have the patch)

Windows xp sp2
1GB RAM
ATI raedon 1650X
pentium 4
CPU 2.80

ya i know it sucks...lol

Yea man I know how you feel. I started playing the game again on my new machine windows 7 64 bit with a Nvidia 470. I'm on the first island and am building a second wing on a hotel when the game just crashes which is leading me to believe I just need to pause that and let it be. I have had bad luck on my other machine too, but thankfully there was enough feedback on the web for the research bug fix. Just think of your game crashing as an added level of difficulty...sometimes you can stop some processes (in game) or whatever and it will keep going.

Evil Genius sometimes crashes when you watch things get completed.

e.g. Finishing a hotel wing, finishing the rocket cave and (this a big one) the last stage of getting rid off Dirk Masters...

I recommend you look somewhere else on the map just before that happens

I have played this game on a variety of rigs since it came out and only my first computer played it without crashing in the exact way you describe and that includes nvidia and ATI graphics cards and several different operating systems.

I have never found a solution. It happens completely randomly to me but once it happens, the game will crash quickly if restarted from the last save.

It's some kind of memory leak I would guess. I wish somebody had a fix because this is one of my most favorite games.
