16:9 Screens supported only
According to this thread on the official forums TW2 only supports 16:9 screen resolutions.
If this is not resolved before the release date then I'll cancel my pre-order. That means that according to the Steam hardware survey 70% of the monitors will not be supported. That's odd to say the least. I hope that thread is wrong, but the source seems to be a dev in a thread where users could ask them questions. |

16:10 is even more common than 16:9. The other resolutions are still very common. Look at this (numbers are taken from the latest Steam hardware survey)...
16:10 = 40.05% 16:9 = 30.58% Other = 29.37% Last edited by MadGizmo: 04-12-2011 at 10:54 AM. |

Yeah this is terrible. I don't want to play this beautifull game on my 22" 1680x1050 LG letterboxed
.Supporting only 30% players is riddiculous. I know like 10% from my friends who plays on 16:9, everyone else 16:10. |

Wow.
I would also cancel my pre-order over this. That is rediculous. |

I'm sure this is a misunderstanding as no way will a major budget game not support 16:10 which is the aspect ratio of nearly half the market. That would be crazy.
I game at 1680x1050 so I will refuse to play this game if that's the case. |

I doubt it only works on 16:9 resolution. It would say in the required specs otherwise. What it means is the game is designed for 16:9 and in 16:10 or less you lose some of the left and right of the image. Only a tiny amount for 16:10 and more for 4:3.
A bit like this: Code:
⎡⎡ ⎤⎤ ⎢⎢ ⎥⎥ ⎣⎣ ⎦⎦ ↑ 16x9 ↑ 16x10 I doubt anyone will be playing with letterboxing. So chill out and wait and see when the game is released. |

While I hope this is some sort of misunderstanding CD Projekt needs to clarify this before release because letterboxing affects the vast majority of their player base and could lose them a lot of sales. |

And seriously with the minimal letterboxing you get with a 16:10 display it's hardly a reason to not buy the game. Sure voice your dissatisfaction so hopefully the devs allow for a zoomed in view, which may be supported anyway, but to boycott the game over this? Really?? |

These screenshots have some weird resolution, but that is exactly how a 16:9 only game would look on 16:10 displays (and I really pity the 4:3/5:4 display owners). |

I do have a 42" 16:9 tv connected to my pc, and a wireless gaypad, but that's not how I prefer to play rpgs. |

f the game doesn't support 1680 x 1050 - I won't buy it,
The original Far Cry (2004) supports it, ME2 (2010) supports it I GUARANTEE Skyrim will support it. . . and for all I know TW2 will support it. Considering the fact that only 30% of gamers use a 16:9 screen - it's hard to believe they would even consider alienating the other 70% |
