Please stop complaining.
There is simply no need to make games for different aspects ratios. It just increase the developing costs which in the end we costumers must pay. Besides 16:10 and 4:3 are being phased out so those with such monitors needs to buy a new 16:9 monitor anyway. See this as a good oportunity instead. Your games will feel so much better with a aspect ratio that is more suitable for the human eyes. Compare it to the computer. You get a better experience if you have hardware that is up to date and that includes a good monitor. Nothing strange with it really. Last edited by Fredstone: 04-14-2011 at 11:26 PM. |

Telling tens of millions of people who just bought $300-$600 monitors a couple of years ago that they should throw them away, because one or two developers were too lazy to give people a choice of resolutions -
- is the stupidest ****ing thing I've heard in a long time. Also - what do you mean "stop complaining"? You seem to misunderstand what's happening, so I'll try to clear it up for you - - if there's no choices for different resolutions - people won't buy the game, they'll spend their money on something else. Got it now? Last edited by Naota: 04-15-2011 at 10:53 AM. |

First off, tens of millions won't be buying this game. Second, who knows if this is even final. Your information is coming from a forum post, not the actual final build. If it's true, it could be a simple ini file change once the game comes out. None of us know for sure. If you're that worried, wait until after the game is released.

No.
No 'at least'. They should have had it from the start. |

If we can get the game on release date, May 17th even with letterboxing, and they say they'll fix it later, then that's perfectly fine with me. Although I do have a 16:9 monitor, so I'm not affected anyway. Do you guys want the game delayed? Or do you want your precious 16:10 ratios intact? |

This, along with Crysis 2 like options and xbox controller scheme perfectly fits a console port scenario.
People throw the "its a preview build!" card to anything relating to it, but considering the track record of CD Projekt, which is basically 1 game that had to be patched to hell and back to be even acceptable for most of us, I'd say that makes me worried. I'm still considering pre-ordering despite these facts, for the sake of a supposed PC exclusive game, but we'll see. |

But there are no Crysis 2 graphical options, there will be the full set of options for the final release as stated by the devs. Who cares if a controller will work well and is designed with that in mind? KB/M will work just as good and I actually like having the choice.
A game that was heavily patched is a cause of worry, sure. But, it was their first game using horrid tech from Bioware. Not to mention those patches included updated content at the whopping price of....wait, it was all free. I get the worries but all this "omg consoles!!" talk is annoyingly melodramatic. Wait for reviews if you think it'll be "dumbed down." |

Widescreen monitors also aren't suitable for the most common PC uses such as web browsing or working with other documents, where you're scrolling up and down. The majority of PC owners don't use them to watch movies or play hardcore games. And if you look at NewEgg, there are as many 1280x1024 (5:4) LCDs for sale as 1920x1080.
