Coins! Argh.

While I haven't gone all that far (3-12 and a few Christmas levels) I've lately been going back and getting more coins because I want to see all of the ships.

However, I can't figure out how to get the one in 2-12.
My best guess is to fly down to the lil notch at top speed, dodge the spikes, and fly through the slow-down-squares at some perfect angle that they don't slow me down. Every time I make it to those slowy squares, I don't have NEAR enough momentum to make it to the coin. The closest I've come is up to where the slope ends past the slowy-squares, which is nowhere near close enough.

Do I have the right idea? Is there some trick to it? It's driving me NUTS

Omg, now I feel dumb. Be sure to do 3-8! I think I know how to do it (flip the gravity back and forth till you have enough speed) but ARGH. 3-9 I have the first coin, and don't even know where to begin for the other two x.x

3-8 is indeed very hard to do

when i upload my videos they will include only the hard-to-get coins and secrets that are not obviously visible in the level.
atm i'm done with world 1 and 2 and halfway through the 3rd.

3-8 was the last coin I got. It's a very discouraging coin.
