Steam is Required

"Please make sure you are running Braid from Steam! This version of the game won't work otherwise."

.. is what Braid says when I try to run it from Steam.

Verified integrity of game files: No change.
Deleted and reinstalled Braid: No change.

Nothing has changed on my system since the last time I played Braid.
None of my other Steam games are having similar problems.

I'm stumped.

You're launching it from the Steam application?

Try deleting the Braid directory & redownloading it...
