Will Prey ever be available again on Steam?

Hello,

Right now I guess the only digital download option is Direct2Drive but D2D does not allow my country's ip to download Prey so I cannot buy it from there. Also ordering from Amazon would cost me huge (the delivery). So, my only chance seems to be Steam starting to sell the game again

If you want to get an answer, you should contact Steam support or the publisher of the game. Or developer, not sure if they still exist though

There are no activation keys left on Steam or GamersGate - that's why Prey was removed from their shops. And it doesn't look like it will appear there anytime soon.

It's still available on Direct2Drive, but with heavy regional restrictions.

Ups it's true!

Direct2Drive Prey is only available on:
United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

Still exists some retail copies.

I suggest that Prey should be moved to Good Old Games

My luck, I found a retail copy on a local store for about 3$ and activated it on Steam

Glad I got it on Steam for only $4.95 when they ran their 24 hour deal!

Just now reinstalling it to try and finish before the 2nd one comes.

when was that? i never knew it was on steam for sale..

i bought mine for $2.50 at gamergate back in December and activated on Steam.

You can buy it in Germany atm in many Electronic Shops for 3 euro ( on the cheap tables ) just saw it and bought it ( can be activated via steam )

I just emailed Human Head Studios and asked if or when Prey would be back on Steam. If they reply I will let you know.

I don't know who currently holds the rights to "Prey," but since "Prey 2" is Bethesda I imagine "Prey 2" will be a steamworks game (since all new Bethesda/ID games are steamworks).

Since Bethesda seems to have a good relationship with Valve I could maybe see them trying to get Prey back on steam as a lead up to the release of Prey 2.

Again, though, I don't know if Bethesda even owns the rights to the first Prey game, so maybe they couldn't put it back on steam even if they wanted to.
