Stuttering on Windows XP
Note: I'm using a retail copy of the game, not Steam.
Hi. I had Max Payne installed a while back, played it a bunch and even install some really big mods. It was fine. I just reinstalled it to do a playthrough of both games again (just got MP2 on Steam). It's been stuttering a bit but not much, then I got to the second chapter and the stuttering seems to be getting worse. Anyone know the problem? Note: The manual even says "The game has been known to work on Windows XP, but has not been tested." Man, in 2001 I woulda thought XP was the standard by then. |

Max Payne 1 was released on July 23 2001
Windows XP was released on August 24 2001 I've played many times Max Payne all of them on Windows XP x86 without worries. We have some info about stuttering games on different systems with multi cores (eg Frontlines: Fuel of war). 1º Did you try using latest official patch? 2º Did you try using last No CD patch? 3º What's your specs? |
