Portal 2: Great Game, but not challenging enough.
I'm not sure what you guys think, but I for one think the game is too easy(singleplayer). None of the tests are challenging enough, if not at all, and so far, none seem to be good enough designs to be memorable for a long time. A bit disappointed about that
![]() Besides that, the game is awesome. |

I think the progression and overall difficulty combined with the uniqueness of each puzzle was actually really well done. If you're after anally difficult puzzles, I'm sure there's plenty of community members that will make them once user made content is available.

I'm not saying they should be frustrating, just think they could have been designed a bit better, and they seem short somewhat. 1 or 2 simple switches, and thats it.

I dunno, I got stuck on some tests for a bit, just like on portal 1.
It's a bit trickier than its predecessor, but when the source files come out we'll see the crazier creations just because there are -so- many new toys to work with. |

all i remember is entering and exiting circular elevators and a loading screen. i only really had to think twice during the whole game.
portal 2 is evidence of the death of pc gaming and the dumbing down of gaming in general. am i just old and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, or was there once a time when games were more than 5hrs long and very very hard? So much potential here.... |

Only hard part in some of the puzzles was to find the damn surfaces that can hold a portal xD
Anyway... Coop is where this game really shines (The gameplay that is. I love the story and the characters in sp). Might just have been me and my buddy that wasn't all that clever but a few puzzles took some brain cells to complete ;D |

I actually thought it was harder than Portal 1. Maybe because I haven't been practicing on extremely difficult user made maps.

I have to agree actually - the lack of challenge levels is really killing me, as well as the timed/portal/steps tests that gave the original some re playability.

How long did it take you to beat Super Mario Brothers the first time? How long the LAST time you played? When it first came out it took me seven days to beat Sonic 3. Playing it again for the first time in years just a few weeks ago... it took me less than two hours to beat, and I only continued once (stupid ice levels always do me in). The game isn't easier than the first, you just know how to play the thing. There isn't much you can do puzzle-wise unless you start integrating hyper-tight twitch portal shooting at which point you should either go play Half Life or Meat Boy instead. Portal is what Portal is. A fun and somewhat goofy game with an excellent setting and backstory. I'm already on my second playthrough and love it even more now that I'm taking time to see all the cool bits. |

It was actually harder than portal 1, it's just that you only had to complete the process ONCE instead of 20 million freaking times because your energy ball died right before you were about to finish it.
The difficulty mainly came from how huge some of the puzzles were and trying to figure out how it all fit in. Which is a good kind of difficulty because it doesn't require twitch godlike aiming skills where you are disoreintated for the whole sequence of 20 portals which made portal kind of frustrating for me towards the end. If you want an actual challenge, wait for Valve to release that SDK and watch all the crazy ♥♥♥♥ hard puzzles people will come out with. |
