WAit until Valve fixes our massive crash errors, then get the game.

I run it with Radeon HD4200 on 1024x768 High Textures, the rest medium. Works fine as long as you have a strong CPU, since the Source engine uses more CPU than GPU.
But with this small RAM and the somewhat mediocre CPU you shouldn't expect wonders. P.S.: Didn't crash even once for me yet. Campaign complete and Co-Op just one chamber left. |

You'll need to pull the settings down a bit, but it should be OK.
And it's never crashed on me. |

I usually have everything on its lowest except for maybe textures on medium, get around 40 something frames on L4D2.
Is it much more demanding than the Portal 1? |

my pc is around 6 years old... and i only upgraded my graphics card and it runs GREAT on 2560*1600 with all settings on high (not highest) except shader quality on medium(?)...
amd x2 4400+ (= old cpu) 3gb ram (= ddr1 ram) windows 7 64-bit radeon 5850 (on a agp 4x slot) i was amazed at how smooth it ran... it runs smoother then tf2 so i guess it all depends on your graphics card... don't think the cpu will be a problem |

I have a worse computer than that, and portal 2 somehow runs better than portal 1.

I run L4D2 on medium and it stutters quite a bit all over the place
I run Portal 2 on medium also, and it runs super smooth Portal 2 isn't really a computer intensive game. It's designed in a way that only requires very minimal asset loading and has amazing LODS that save loading times greatly. |
