how to play portal in third person

hey guys

if you type in sv_cheats 1 in the developers console, and then thirdperson or thirdpersonshoulder, you can play the entire game in third person, and control the cameras position with these commands:

c_thirdpersonshoulder 1
c_thirdpersonshoulderdist 20
c_thirdpersonshoulderaimdist 120.0
c_thirdpersonshoulderdist 20
c_thirdpersonshoulderheight 15
c_thirdpersonshoulderoffset 20.0

only problem is i cant seem to get the crosshair working. i simply drew a dot on my monitor with a sharpie, but any help about that is welcomed.

Not sure about over the shoulder third person, but normal third person has been since GoldSrc.

Bigger info: Thirdpersonshoulder, from what I've heard (can't personally verify right now), works with sv_cheats 0.

Did you really write on your computer monitor with a sharpie?

overtheshoulder is brand new. every other game before this has only had thirdperson and firstperson.

oboewan42: i can verify that you need sv_cheats 1 to be set in order to go into thirdperson mode.

I do it with temporary marker pen with 3rd person shoulder, and just rub it off with a small damp tissue.

A lot of people do stuff like this on COD for no scoping purposes to, a lot just use tape(electrical maybe)
