Dedicated server - How to?
Ok I downloaded HLDSupdate and installed HL2mp with the update tool. Ran the dedicated server without any issues.
I extracted all the files from the two different Half-Life Deathmatch Source .gcf files, put them into a folder named hl1mp, place that hlmp folder in the same directory where I see hl2mp Here is what the directories look like: C:\hlds hlds\hl1 hlds\hl2 hlds\orangebox hlds\orangebox\hl1mp hlds\orangebox\hl2mp hlds\orangebox\scrd.exe Then I created a srcds.exe shortcut from the srcds.exe in the orangebox folder and add -game hl1mp. Tried to boot it up and got nothing except an error. see error here I don't understand why the heck this game doesn't have a dedicated server available but there is no sense in complaining to valve about that. I just want to get this working. I see some servers in the server list... someone must have some info that is current. Thanks |

well you did a mistake thats why its not working.
first is half-life source and half-life deathmatch source is not orangebox mod. so it cant be in orangebox folder. paste the hl1mp folder here. C:\hlds when you paste hl1mp folder, so its like C:\hlds\hl1mp or check my thread i think you dont know or you dont understand? http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=1682926 |
