How to stop your computer going to sleep while downloading.

Hi everyone,

I got a bit feed up with my computer going to sleep when I was downloading games via steam and other files. So I wrote a little program. There is a whole heap of other features I need to add but the core function is working.

Currently supported:

Windows 7
Vista (untested)
32 bit(x86) and 64 bit(x64).

Just change power settings.
Make a custom power setting that doesn't turn off or, if you don't mind changing the default ones, you can use a switching gadget for ease.
That's how I do it!

Not to be rude, but did you really write a program to achieve something that can be done with three clicks in the control panel?

I guess I got sick of going in and out of the power options all the time.

Also its bad when you are installing a program using a one of those horrible web installers (/looks at Microsoft) and you come back to your computer to find it asleep 1/2 through installing.

I guess he wants it to sleep while not downloading... Without having to change gears every time.

Inform me when you get to 1337 downloads. Until then I don't care.

This can be useful..

I know that a lot of work places make it so that your computer locks if you are inactive for 15 minutes. I've messed with all sorts of settings, and never figured out how they manage to do it..

I've changed group policies, registry settings, power settings.. and it STILL locks.

But these idle programs help.

I don't understand any of the negative comments. This is great (+ rep), glad my Google search lead me here.
My guess is people are not as forgetful as me so they are saying they will always remember to turn off hibernation when downloading large files, and then that they will always be at their pc when the file finishes downloading and remember to turn back on hibernation. Also that they aren't as lazy as me where even an unnecessary click becomes painful after the 3rd time.
Guess that's why we're programmers. I am curious why did you make Milk and Sugar their own program versus just a form in the main program (my first guess is you want to run them on their own sometimes but not sure why that would be)?
