Tages Unexpected Error (13:6)

I recently upgraded my PC (motherboard, CPU, Memory) and performed a CLEAN install of Windows 7 64-bit. Installed Risen and while attempting to activate I get the following error:

"Unexpected Error (13:6)."

A lot of info out there about the 13:13, 13:10 errors. Could find NOTHING about a 13:6 error, but I still suspected it was a BIOS issue of some sort since the others were as well.

I updated TagesClient directly from their site, no change.
I uninstalled and re-downloaded the game over night, no change.
I ran the game and the Tages client as an Admin, no change.

Before I went to bed I sent an email to Tages support. Here is the response:

Quote:
"Try to run the game as admin. If the error still persist, then maybe you are using UEFI…"
Here is my response:

Quote:
"No change when the game is run as Admin.

I am using UEFI, my new motherboard is the Asrock P67 Extreme4 which uses UEFI. What is the solution in this case?

Thanks!"
Now this better not be going where I think it's going. Since I wasn't provided a resolution or explanation to having a UEFI BIOS, I'm assuming there is some sort of compatibility issue with it and I may be outta luck. I am still waiting a for a response back. If Tages won't work with a UEFI bios, then it won't work on a lot of newer machines. Ridiculous!

I'll keep you updated.

I too have an EFI bios and I'm getting this error. Let me know what comes of this. If the outcome of this is "sorry, you cannot use the product you paid for", I will avoid purchasing anything that uses Tages DRM in the future.

I was having this issue as well. Downloading and installing the new drivers for TAGES solved this issue for me.

Silly flash site. Click the "Drivers" link at the top.

Thanks for the link it worked.

I had tried to install new TAGES twice before. First time from the same site after seeing this thread. The second time was after I also contacted Deep Silver. They provided a link.

Neither worked and they never wrote back. Third time is the charm I guess.

I found myself in the OP's position, and this worked for me as well. Thank you for posting!
