Keeps Crashing at Startup

Game unlocked. Verified cache. Keeps crashing startup.

Edit: I got the game to work after updating my video drivers, and verifying the cache a few times. After I did all that, when I started Brink steam installed some DirectX files (never saw that before) and the game worked. Note: I had to delete a file from the brink install for Steam to realize something was missing when verifying, then it works. Brink did crash when I exited the game though, which I didn't mind as much as crashing when it started.

Can you describe the crashes you're seeing and provide your system specs?

Trying to run this thing with 12GB of ram, an intel 990x and a 5970. Set various safe launch options but still a load, followed by an immediate crash to desktop.

EDIT: running windows 7 64bit.

Windows XP SP3, 3.06GHz Core2 Duo, 2.72GB Ram, 9600GTM. Same as everyone above. What fresh hell is this.

2.83 quad core 4gb ram with an ATI Radeon HD 4800. I see the first splash screen the screen stop moving, then the game crashes.

2.20 Quad (phenom) 4 gb ram ATI Radeon 4800. Windows 7 32 bit. Crash's instantly.

Edit: Weird, I launched it for the 20th or so time and now steams installing the directX files.
Edit 2: Didn't fix it, however.

So weak, its not like this is an obscure setup:

AMD Phenom IIx4 965 Processor (quad core)
8 gig ram
ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series
Win7 64bit

and ya... crash on start up like everyone else... sigh

Guys, this game uses OpenGL. At the moment, it appears that if you are forcing triple buffering through your card, it'll crash the game at start up. So make sure you aren't forcing triple buffering through the card. Fixed the problem for me.
