Game doesn't start - no error message...

Hi guys,
I read most of the other threads about the game not starting. My problem is: I just get the occasional "bcr.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close... please tell me microsoft about this problem" message by windows.

There is no PhysX error message, and I tried different version of Physx (newest version from the official website and the one that came with the game). I tried several graphic card drivers, reinstalled OpenAL -> still crashing

Maybe there is some kind of error report I am just too stupid to find? There must be some hint WHY the game crashes at startup.

I'd appreciate any kind of help!

my system speccs:
Win XP (SP 3)
ATI Radeon 4670
Intel Dualcore E6300
2GB Ram

I even tried an Nvidia graphics card just now and it didn't work!
