Steam preload possibly today.
Exact quote from "Chesskid1" of NeoGaf's forums. Basically he translated what the devs said today in Gamestop facebook page (a Q&A).

I highly respect a company taking 4 years to make a GREAT game rather than slapping one together in 2 that is ok.
WTF happened to Crysis 2 tho???? 11 Hour game in 4 years????? Come on man! Also it was 100% smash and grab...stealth was an option but not necessary like the first one. |

I imagine the TF2 update adding the Witcher items is to coincide with the pre-load announcement that'll probably happen tomorrow.

Good on them. Pre-loads should be automatic for large titles and I'm sure a lot of TW2 on Steam purchasers will be happy.

Edit: From Gog forums, "The time for the release is 07:00 GMT. There were some last minute changes handed down from on high. Apologies."

Even on disk you can't play until they say it's time to play. There's a file you have to download when you install that unlocks the game.

Love everything I read in that interview! You can really tell that this is a company that wants to make a good game and through that, make good money. The other great RPG developers have flipped their priorities to wanting to make lots of money and by that measure consider their games good. BioWare I'm scowling at you!

yeah, it should be preloaded because file is huge. 16GB.... it's even bigger than mass effect 2 without DLC.
just like Valve, they will give us free DLC? wow, I love them. I have no doubt that the game will be the best, epic saga. GOTY already. Last edited by enemyofportal: 05-13-2011 at 09:15 AM. |
