You seem to be the only one with these issues.

How about you ask for some help and give us some information on your computer before you tell everyone that the game is broken when like Geriden said you seem to be among the very few that can't start it.

Thumbs down

Wait, i think someone didnt read the min requirements
Before you ask for a refund you should ask for help, thats the purpose of these forums. Recommending not to buy a game ON STEAM based on your experience is not a reason to not buy the game, besides you imply that the game is broken on steam because you are saying not to buy the game on steam, not to not buy it at all.

I am having lots of problems with Witcher 2 Steam version like:

1. Sometimes I'm having 2 cursors at a time, one is a plus sign (I think one is used in windows but the in game cursor is the real one, mostly happens when chatting in steam) - Fix is to reload a previous save.

2. When loading a game, Geralt cant move (Mostly happens when Geralt is in a Throw Bomb Phase and then autosaves) - fix is to load a previous save other than that.

3. In the middle of a battle sometimes the mouse wont respond but the WASD works. (Happened to me when I use magic or throw a bomb) - Fix is to go to main menu and load previous save.

4. Sometimes there is a random Lag in Cutscenes/Finishing moves. (Most irritating, don't know the cause, it sometimes just happens)

5. Some Dialogue Voices just stops.

6. My Roccat Kave Volume wheel is not working in game.

7. Macro Keys not working when using screenshots, using Blackwidow and Kone+

My friend says that he only encountered the dialogue bug in his GOG version.

Why are they not uploading the Witcher 2 patch on Steam? I suffered the long download and halved bandwidth. But I can't believe I'm beta testing the game. I just want to enjoy and play the game I payed for. Is that too much to ask?

Specs:

Windows 7 x64
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T 3.5Ghz
Asus M4A89GTD Pro/Usb 3.0
Asus Xonar D2X 7.1
EVGA GTX 480 Superclocked
6 gig RAM
Alienware OptX AW2310 120hz
Roccat Kave
Roccat Kone +
Razer BlackWidow Ultimate

Were that the case for everyone I would say it's the application....since it's only a handful I would say, driver conflict. Are you using win7 or vista (bleh). I seriously doubt it would work on xp.

I have no problems and the game runs fine for me on high, and my card is 3-4 years old. There are many more people who have the game working, they're just playing the game.

If your game won't start, have you even TRIED to get help?

All I see is "oh noes it won't start! fail of the year! REFUND!!!!", and not a single instance of "here are the problem i'm having, here's my system specs, here's other useful information, help please?".
