Any way to turn off this godforsaken blur?

It's so amazingly bad, it's giving me a headache. I've tried turning vsync off, with no effect.

No kidding, also the over saturated gamma at some spots. However I have no problems with anything else except maybe the camera, don't know what it is with the camera but it just doesn't "feel" right.

Turn "Effects" to "Reasonable"

Anything above Reasonable, and it uses that blur/AA filtering that looks horrible.

Look for the VideoOptionsConfig.xml file in the fable dir
Usually if using steams its located here:
Steam\steamapps\common\fable 3

Look for these 2 lines:
<RadialBlurMinimumEffectsDetail>2</RadialBlurMinimumEffectsDetail>
<MotionBlurMinimumEffectsDetail>1</MotionBlurMinimumEffectsDetail>

Change the 2 and 1 (or whatever number is there) to 0

Save, start your game..

No more motion blur...

Still trying to work out the Gamma settings in the same file.

Well if I understand it rightly, all your doing by changing those values is lowering the minimum allowable level. So if the system allows it, it wil drop the effect. But your not putting a limit on the maximum levels of the effect.

I added to my doc:
<RadialBlurMaximumEffectsDetail>0</RadialBlurMaximumEffectsDetail>
<MotionBlurMaximumEffectsDetail>0</MotionBlurMaximumEffectsDetail>

And it appears to my eye to have worked. But mileage may vary. There could be another user based config some where in the game. Probably in Windows live where the user profile is saved. But I am not sure about that one. Just know from experience there could be a few of these things spread around and you have to get em all to make a real difference.

Found this on the Lionhead site

Worked better for me and seemed to fix the gamma.

<IntSettings>
<BloomMinimumEffectsDetail>0</BloomMinimumEffectsDetail>
<RadialBlurMinimumEffectsDetail>0</RadialBlurMinimumEffectsDetail>
<DepthOfFieldMinimumEffectsDetail>2</DepthOfFieldMinimumEffectsDetail>
<MotionBlurMinimumEffectsDetail>0</MotionBlurMinimumEffectsDetail>
<TemporalAAMinimumEffectsDetail>3</TemporalAAMinimumEffectsDetail>
<TemporalAAMinimumEffectsDetailMGPU>99</TemporalAAMinimumEffectsDetailMGPU>
<SSAAMinimumEffectDetail>3</SSAAMinimumEffectDetail>
<SaturationMaskMinimumEffectsDetail>0</SaturationMaskMinimumEffectsDetail>
<SpecularMinimumShaderDetail>0</SpecularMinimumShaderDetail>
<EnvMappingMinimumShaderDetail>0</EnvMappingMinimumShaderDetail>
<RainAndSnowMinimumEffectDetail>1</RainAndSnowMinimumEffectDetail>
<FresnelMinimumShaderDetail>1</FresnelMinimumShaderDetail>
<TieredOcclusionMaximumModelDetail>3</TieredOcclusionMaximumModelDetail>

Motion blur is imho the worst effect to ever be implemented into a game, not only can it effect the performance but it just looks completely to put it bluntly , what makes it worse is when developers don't give us the option to turn it off, without having to access a cfg/ini file.

hopefully what you guys have posted should allow me to disable it

I got a quick question.

What video cards are you using... Nvidia or ATI

I have a theory that ATI users got screwed..

hope not, i've got a 5770 brinks already screwed me over so far, i really want to enjoy it but even with current 11.5A RC3 it's not running how it should on my machine. i run far nicer looking games at greater FPS, even with higher resos.

*fingerscrossed* I can run fable III with nice visuals at higher than 30fps.
