How do I disconnect a Steam account off of a PSN account? (or just log off)

Whenever my friend is playing co-op with another friend, my Steam account gets used and it says I'm in-game. He has his own Steam account so why are we not able to log off Steam accounts on the PS3?

Seriously, I don't want to be shown as "In-Game" all ****ing night. It's aggravating me.

Create a different user account on your PS3 for your friend to play on.

Also, who cares if a line of text somewhere on the internet says that you're in-game in Portal 2. Coop has limited use anyways so it's not really going to be an issue for very long as it is.
