Trophies... What for?

What is the reason to have trophies in this game? Didn't found anything usefull yet. Later on they will be needed or something like that?

There is a slot in your inventory to equip a trophy of your choice. Any you don't use you can vendor. They give passive bonuses if you look at them in your inventory.

Semi-bosses or bosses usually gives you a trophy when you loot them. A trophy for instance can give you extra defense, vitality, etc.

There is an equip slot for trophies and this time it does someting!

Kayan trophy increases armour and vitality
