Dirt 3 game/keyboard freeze

So I've been playing for a bit now. After a few races the game freezes for me. It happened once while loading. Nothing responded anymore. So no ctrl-alt-del (the keyboard didn't respond anymore. The light for caps-lock would not turn of or on either). Had to press reset button on PC.

Then I tried the game again, now the keyboard froze ingame. So the button i was pressing kept registering a press (in this instance the butting for accelerating). But nothing else responded. So again, no ctrl-alt-del. No way to exit the game.

i7-920
GTX 275
6gb ram
windows 7 ultimate x64
Logitech G110 keyboard

Does anyone have any idea? I also own Dirt 2 on steam (which is the same engine right?) but never had any problems there.

Hope there will be a solution, cause this is unplayable for me now..

We all have the same problem. The game freezes/crashes while loading or after races.

Yes I read your topic. But I wasn't sure if it was the same problem. Cause when my keyboard froze during a load the game froze. But it also happened while in a race, driving. The game kept on going just fine. I just couldn't steer anymore... So that's why I made a new topic. It is my problem the same as you are experiencing?

I have the exact same issue. Every two or three races my keyboard will just stop working but the game will still be running.

The only thing we appear to have in common is the Logitech G110.

Sometimes my keyboard is getting stuck. And steering automaticly to left.

Me too. Logitech G110. I have never had this problem in any other game inculding Dirt 2.

Hi there. I got exactly the same issue. Cant believe it! How can a keyboard influence a game?? Never heard of something like this before! Any solutions so far?

yes hi i just got my dirt3 to day and well i can do like 3 or 4 racers then my keybord just stops working and my car drives by itself and i cant do anything not even quit the game.now it has done the some thing to me once when in the race menu but most of the time it does it in a race and i have to restart my hole pc i just cant play the.does any1 no how to fix it??????

I have this issue too; with my G110.

Hey people. Same problem here, also with a G110 from Logitech. Just thought I'd contribute to the bug reporting.

I also found out it can be resolved by just unplugging the keyboard and then of course plugging it back in. Not the most desired solution, I know, but at least you don't need a full restart of the game/computer.

Hope there's a fix soon, 'cos the game is awesome!

Same problem and "solution"

I have the same problem here and i have a microsoft keyboard, now i´m using a controller an it works good. Sometimes it crashes also but not so often.

I have g110 as well, the keyboard just seems to freeze, whatever keys that were being pressed when it freezes stay stuck, no other keys work. Caps/num/scroll lock do not work either (lights do not change). Happens during race and in menus. I uninstalled the Logitech gaming software but the issue remains. Unplugging-plugging back works but damn this is annoying. This never happens in other games, even F1 2010 or dirt2. I hope they can patch it soon, I love this game!

Hmm, I too am also having this problem with my G110. However, in full screen mode unplugging the keyboard doesn't solve the issue. I have also tried deleting the hardware config and running the game windowed to no avail. Actually, having deleted the hardware config and then running in a window, the keyboard froze within seconds of starting my 1st race (whereas previously I could at least play a bit longer).

I'm guessing this is an in-game problem as opposed to a keyboard problem and hope that codemasters can solve it sooner rather than later - when it runs it looks gorgeous

hey guys i got a fix 4 it but i dont think some of u will like it much.use a ps2 keybord not a usb 1 have had mine plugd in all day and have had no probs at all.so i hope it works 4 asll u guys as well
