How to change the new "Tink" sound

since apparently everyone hates it and wants the old sound back

1. Open your steamapps/common/terraria/content/sounds folder

2. Remove Tink_0.xnb, Tink_1.xnb, and Tink_2.xnb

3. Make 3 copies of Dig_0.xnb in your Sounds folder

4. Name the copies Tink_0, Tink_1, and Tink_2

5. No more ears bleeding

I don't hate the "tink" sound. But then I'm not everybody. hehe

Seriously, my hearing isn't uber like it probably used to be. I don't play with headphones and I don't blast the sound. I find the new sound to provide a useful/nice audio clue that I'm digging the ore I'm after instead of the dirt/clay/mud around it.

I think we need a sound to distinguish stone from ore. In fact, each one could have it's own distinct "tink" sound.

But then I also think these sounds should be optional for those that just want to have one sound for everything. That way everyone wins.

Yeah I like the tink. The distinctive sound is a good idea though.

I love the idea of it. How about, the tink for Copper/Iron/Silver/Gold, then a different more crumbly sound for Stone that has more mid to low tones. Then something for Meteroite, Hellstone?

I'm one of those people who are very sensitive to sounds.

After I got the 1.0.5 update, after mining stone blocks I just said to myself "I really don't want to play this game anymore. It really ruins it."

So I searched the internet and found this thread.

The "tink" sound is that bad for some people? It can't be that horrible. I don't mind the "tink", there should be a different sound for the different minerals. What do people set their volume at? 30 or 40? I raise it just enough so I can hear it.
