Question When does Steam's summer sales begin?

The question is pretty much in the title.
Is it unknown?

Their smart and don't hold it the same time. They can start it at the end of July, or the beginning of June.

The first sale I bought last year was June 26th and was Left 4 Dead 2 for $10.20, and the last game I purchased on the sale was Trine for $4.00. All in all I got ~15 games for ~$51.

June 26th Left 4 Dead 2 $10.20
June 26th Space Trader, Puzzle Kingdoms, King's Bounty: Gold Edition $13.48
June 27th Gothic Bundle $1.99 *Gotic 2 Gold & Gothic 3*
June 29th Cryostatis, Chronicles of Riddick $10.03
June 30th Flatout Ultimate Carnage $2.00
July 1st Thief Deadly Shadows, Winterbottom $5.48
July 1st Madballs $1.99
July 2nd Beat Hazard $2.49
July 4th Trine $4.00

Total $51.66 for 15 games plus one expansion.

Last year was the 24th of June to the 4th of July. It was the first time we had a summer sale, there's no guarantee it'll happen again. Keep your fingers crossed and don't be too disappointed if a sale fails to appear.

I'm hoping that the id Superpack or at least the Doom Complete Pack goes on sale, kinda leading up to Rage. Whether during the summer sales or closer to Rage, I don't care. As long as it happens.

I'm a bit new to Steam, so I hope I haven't missed out on that, because I read that some guy got the superpack for $25 in the "best deals" thread. Was that a recent thing or is it due another discount like that?

I wish they;d warn us early so we could save up but on the other hand people would prob stop buying games and wait for the sale meaning less money overall

That sale was due to QuakeConn, I believe. I myself bought the DOOM 3 pack (seeing as I already owned the original DOOM games).
