I just got this same message. Currently validating game cache, hopefully that helps.

Verifying integrity of game cache didn't work. Time to reboot my PC I guess? Already tried restarting Steam; that was no help.

System reboot didn't work for me either. Not a network issue either; I haven't changed any network settings and I'm still able to connect to Steam, chat with steam friends and open CS. Just can't join servers.

Same for me, restarting, relogging, deleting clientregistry - nothing seems to work.

Anyone know if this is only a CS:S problem? Anyone experience this with other steam games?
Edit: Found this on the Steam Helps & Tips forum: http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=1913862 I guess we're not the only ones. |

Exact same problem here. The exact Steam error message that I get is:
"This Steam account does not own this game. Please login to the correct Steam account" Already tried to delete ClientRegistry.blob from the Steam folder, have it automatically re-download/update Steam when it reconnected, then re-login using my Steam account info, but it things don't seem to work. By the way, I was trying to play CS 1.6 (not Source), although I don't think it's a game specific problem. Hope this is resolved soon, ~ Im2bz2p345
