GTA SA save game issue

The game will not save properly. I am aware of the issue of the GTA San Andreas User Files folder not being created, manually created it and still it will not save. What is weird is that if I place a save game file into that folder(from the internet), the game reads it fine and loads normally. Could the folder the save games are being saved to be different from the one it loads from and if so where are my save games going? I tried searching for them using the standard format for SA save files and it turns up no results. Any help would be appreciated.

And yes I did a search and none of the other threads had this particular save/load issue.

Same problem here. I guess that's why it was only 5 quid eh? Nice of them to sell us a broken game. Can I get my money back?

I bought the game just the other day and haven't experienced any saving/loading issues. I have, however, experienced odd graphical issues.

What do you mean by 'Steam Cache Check'?
I have a modified executable, and it doesn't affect Steam at all.

Well, after I modify .exe and try to run the game, I got the message:
Quote:
This game is currently unavailable. Please try again at another time.
I have Windows 7 and tried two folder paths:

C:\Documents and Settings\Gtasasav - as described in the instruction. I think it's right only for Windows XP.

C:\Users\fr0stMan\Documents\Gtasasav - with actual path to my docs in Windows 7.

Both ways do not work

Probably because you renamed the exe?

I have sa on original dvd, that I installed ages ago and it saves to:
C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files

Maybe it will help if you create this folder

Edit:

I just bought the game here on steam, installed it and ran it, in the 3.00 version and saved as soon as I could, and I can confirm that the game saves to:

C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files

It created the file: GTASAsf1.b

I've closed the game and been able to load the game fine 3 times

Well, I've created folder 'GTA San Andreas User Files' in my docs folder C:\Users\MyUserName\Documents\ and nothing happened. The game still won't save my progress. As an experiment I've put my old save files in that folder and game won't see them too.

I thought the problem was in user rights policy, but I have admin rights...
