Civ IV: Worth it?

yeah, just asking for any of you Civ veterans who have any opinions on why this game is good for your money (IF it's good for your money, lol)

btw, i'm not really good with RTS. so will I not like the game? i mean, battling the AI in RTS is no problem, but usually i suck in multiplayer RTS.

Civilization is a TBS. You take turns, it's not real time, this means you can finish your turn in 1 minute or 20, time is not a constraint in single player.

And yes, Civ 4 is definitely worth it.
You get 4 games.
Civ 4 - play a few games to learn the basic rules
Warlords - play the scenarios
BTS - the pinnacle

Colonization is more of a mod of Civ 4.

What do you do in Civilization? Settle the land, work it, build up your cities, found religions, tech through the ages, wage wars, develop your culture, build wonders, keep your people happy and healthy, obtain great people, and a lot more in BTS.

It gets pretty complicated with so many aspects of the game, but I found it entertaining (as long as I don't get greedy and try to excel in all categories).

Also make sure to install the BUG mod

Yes, the games (excluding Colonization) appear twice in your library. (one entry for windows one for mac)
It might bother some people.

I could easily pay the current full price if the problem is fixed.
Soo... How does it affect the game play? What happens if its duped in the games library, can you not play the game or something?

The Mac entry doesn't do anything, it's just there.
It doesn't affect gameplay in any way.

Even if you happen to have a problem with it (say you're OCD like me), you can still just filter it by installed games and the three dupes will go away.

I asked about the duplicated game entry about a year ago. The support said that the problem is being fixed, but still nothing. I just asked about it again and I also noted how they said that the problem would be fixed. I'll post the response if I ever get one.

Certainly worth it if you like turn based civ type games. It is the best in the series (5 stinks). I already own them all on CD bought the day they came out and I bought them again on Impulse when they were on sale but now that I use Steam I will buy them one more time for all of $7 bucks so I have them on Steam now.
