Garrys Mod Not Starting

So, I just finished installing Gmod with a respected Source game already (Half Life 2) installed as well. Half Life 2 runs and plays perfectly with no issues. Now, when I try to run Gmod, Steam says "Preparing to Launch Garrys Mod" and then nothing will happen.

It will show the HL2.exe in the task manager, but the game itself won't open. Times when it does, it will never, ever, load. As in, it would say loading, but it would be stuck on that screen for ever.

Any suggestions or additional information needed?

Have you tried verifying your cache?

Yes, I have.
- I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling both Garrys Mod and steam.
- and I have also tried typing in -Dxlevel81 in he launch options

Have you tried deleting your garrysmod folder?

Yes. Multiple times.

Have you closed all background programs and left it for a while? After you delete the garrysmod folder, a lot files need to be recreated.

Also wanted to mention. Every single other game on steam works just fine.

Sounds like my problem. Try running the game from the directory (a.k.a. the actual folder it's in) and see what pops up.

okay, tried that and got:
"Setup file 'gameinfo.txt' doesn't exist in the subdirectory 'hl2'. Check your -game parameter or VCONFIG setting."

This is sorta making me frustrated because I bought a game that basically broke itself.

Yes, I am aware that Garry's Mod went through an update but for one, it never said what the update was for, and two, it still didn't fix the problem. I updated my drivers and such with the latest ones and still no luck.
