Noob question, but,,,

What do crystals do? I'm talking about those colored crystals that you hit 3 times and a little crystal pops out. You can only pick up one at a time and they sit on your back. What's the point of those things?

Those are minerals--carry them to the elevator and they'll be added to your inventory.
After that, you can use them to help create gates in the arcade!

Those are minerals. If you carry them to the end gate, everyone gets them placed in their arsenal. When you go back to the acrade, you can spend them on creating new worlds (and getting paid.) The guy surrounded by minerals in the arcade can explain this a bit better than me though.
