Exclamation [INFO] A.V.A Steam Troubleshooting.

Hello A.V.A fans,

For any players having issues launching or playing A.V.A, please try the following for troubleshooting:

A. Run Steam as Administrator.
1. Close Steam.
2. Right click the Steam.exe from C:\Program Files\Steam or your default location and choose the "Run as Administrator" option to launch Steam. The option may not work with a Desktop shortcut to Steam so be sure to use the direct Steam.exe.

Please keep in mind that this process is not permanent. If this corrects your issue, you can continue to launch Steam in this manner or upgrade your Windows User account to Administrator status.

B. Run REACTOR as Administrator.
1. Close Steam.
2. Find the A.V.A folder directory in Steam (default location: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\ava).
3. Find REACTOR.exe.
4. Right click REACTOR.exe and select "Run as Administrator".

Please keep in mind that this process is not permanent. If this corrects your issue, you can continue to launch Steam in this manner or upgrade your Windows User account to Administrator status.

C. Disable User Account Control.
Windows Vista Users:
1. Go to the Windows Control Panel.
2. Select User Accounts.
3. Choose "Turn User Account Control on or off".
4. Uncheck the box next to "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer".
5. Select OK and restart your computer.
6. Re-test any issues you were seeing with A.V.A on Steam.

Windows 7 Users:
1. Click Start > Run (or Windows Key + R) and type wscui.cpl and choose Ok.
2. Choose Change User Account Control Settings from the menu on the left.
3. Move the slider to the Never notify option.
4. Select OK and restart your computer.
5. Re-test any issues you were seeing with A.V.A on Steam.

D. Temporarily disable your anti-virus program when launching, updating or playing A.V.A on Steam
Some anti-virus programs pick up various game files as a potential threat and automatically delete the file once it's activated. This will cause various game launching issues. Once you have completed your gaming session, please re-enable your anti-virus program.

E. Images not displaying correctly, pages not loading, and log in failures
1. Open the Start Menu.
2. Open Control Panel.
3. Open Internet Options.
4. Select the Advanced tab.
5. Click the 'Reset...' button and confirm the action.
6. Click Ok.

Thank you to tbfdm for finding the solution to this issue.

F. Game Freezing (Resolution)
If your game is freezing after launching A.V.A, please try the following:

1. Locate your A.V.A folder directory (default location: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\ava).
2. Go into the 'ava' folder, then the 'avaGame' folder.
3. Locate the 'AVAOptionSettings' file and open it with Notepad.
4. Change the 'StartUpResX' and 'StartUpResY' to your desktop resolutions. For example, if you have 1920x1080, you would have 1920 for StartUpResX and 1080 for StartUpResY.
5. Save the file and launch A.V.A through Steam.

Thank you to Drumstick for finding the solution to this issue.

If your issue is still occurring, please post your issue on the forums.

Sincerely,
A.V.A Staff
