Black Screen, can't play
Upon the first time playing the initial movie played fine. Shut it down and came back to it and now all I get is a black screen with the audio in the background.
GPU drivers are up to date. DirectX June 2010 installed. When I ALT+TAB out I see a flicker of the video. If I change my computers resolution while alt+tabbed and go bac in I get the video, however the screen is zoomed in too far to get past the initial options screen (cannot select anything). On the first successful attempt screen resolution was 1920x1080. I have tried every other resolution my computer offers but even if successful cannot get past the initial options screen due to the issue mentioned prior. I have uninstalled and redownloaded the game. Any help would be appreciated. SYS Specs: ASUS N53S (brand New) and formatted to remove all crapware Nvidia GeForce GT 540M intel i7 processor 8 gigs RAM No reason this game should not run due to SYS specs Last edited by Dissolution: 06-20-2011 at 10:26 PM. |

You are right, there is no reason Numen should not run on your machine due to its specs. If everything looked fine on the first run, I would try to uninstall the game, use something like CCleaner to clean up registry and then I would go to the registry editor to see if Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Centauri\numen key is still in there. If so, I would delete the whole "numen" key and install the game again.
Or maybe I would delete that key right away, even though the game is still installed, to see what happens... Last edited by kovi_cz: 06-21-2011 at 11:38 PM. |

The tread is old, but still...
I had the same problem. The game tried to run on a resolution my monitor couldn't handle. Changing the values of 'xres' and 'yres' registry keys in Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Centauri\numen \gfx_options solves the problem. |

I have the same problem currently, same specs as mentioned in the first post. I am not sure where you go to the registry editor to change the numen key, if that's what really made it work. Any help would be great

- Click the Start button on Windows desktop. - Select "Run..." and type "regedit" (if you don't have the "Run..." item in the Start menu, you should have the search field there, type "regedit" into this field then). - Follow the path "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Centauri\nume n\gfx_options" in the left window. - Double-click the "xres" item in the right window, change the value type to "Decimal" and type in your desired X resolution. If you would like to play the game in 1280x1024, type 1280 in the "xres" value. Save by clicking "OK". - Double-click the "yres" item, switch to "Decimal" and type the Y resolution (1024 in my example). Save with "OK". - Exit the Registry editor and run the game. |
