Kinda a silly question..

I have a 3-pin fan connector left in my motherboard. However I have set my eyes on a 4-pin PWM case fan. Is there such a thing as a 4-pin to 3-pin fan adapter?

I'm sure you can find one on Ebay or Google shopping.

Yes, although it's usually the other way around.

Nah, he wants to adapt a 4 pin fan to connect to his mobo. That'll connect a 3 pin fan to his PSU's molex connectors.

One of these http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/...p?EdpNo=187053
only difference is a female end for the 3pin.

You do not need an adapter, you can plug the 4 pin into a 3 pin header, you just won't be able to control the speed. Check the pinouts on the header so you plug it in right.

OH...
OP, do you mean 4 pin as in molex or 4 pin as in PWM fan header?
Or link us the fan so we can see.

4-pin PWM fan. Not 4-pin molex. I should have been more precise in my 1st post I apologize for that.

Yeah, as people have said you don't need an adaptor, you just plug three pins into it and leave the fourth hole at the edge. You'll then have a powered fan with speed monitoring, but you won't be able to control the speed.
