For those hit by the recent ban wave over the past two days

Many of us were recently banned without warning due to an error with the VAC system catching a false-positive. (See this thread)

For those who were recently banned and believe they are innocent:

if not unbanned yet contact customer support. Most of us who were banned recently have already been unbanned. If you are innocent your items and ban will be reverted.

Also, there has been rumours it might be Windows update related issue. Did any of you updated your pc (or did your pc automatically update) this week itself?

I did have an automatic update two days ago, but these are supposed to be week-long delay bans, I believe.

I was just unbanned as well, but I still have a huge BANNED sticker on my account, and it's jarateing me off.

I just got unbanned, whatever happened it was obviously some f*** up on valve's part, so massive false positive on VAC servers or something.
they are correcting their mistake as we speak.

WTF I just started a game of TF2 and it's telling me I'm VAC banned.

I just reinstalled TF2 last week after over a year of inactivity. Nobody but me is using my gaming computer. I never logged on to my Steam account from any other computer.

Needless to say, never downloaded anything suspicious, let's not even talk about cheats. I f'ing hate cheaters.

What the hell is going on ? Man, I've never been sweating that much.
