Win7 compatible?

Tempted to grab 1701 since the anno series always gets such high praise. I noticed on the requirements:

Operating System: Microsoft® Windows®XP or Windows®2000 English Version — TThis product does not support Windows 95/98/ME, NT or Vista!

Does that mean this doesnt run on 7? Wanted to check before purchasing

I'm wondering this myself. I've seen elsewhere that it is not compatible with Windows 7, but typically Steam is good about notifying users of such issues (like the big warning on the Railroad Tycoon 3 page).

Yes I have gold edition but its not the steam version. Box copy and yes it plays just fine on win7. However you have to update tages copy protection drivers. But that's easy. Annoying its there but easy.

I've bought it during the sale, and I can confirm the Steam version runs fine on Windows 7.

Sorry if this is a nooby question, but how do you update it?
Just installed the game on my win7 computer, but it won't launch

Download the drivers at http://www.tagesprotection.com/main.htm and click on drivers.

I haven't had an issue installing the game on windows 7... maybe it was due to a recent patch?
